Executive Director, Robert Santiago

 Mr. Robert Santiago, Exec Director/ CEO

Mr. Santiago has worked in the social service field for over 25 years. He holds a bachelors in Political Science, a Masters in Economics and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the Rutgers University. In addition, Mr. Santiago has proudly served his country as an officer in the United States Army.

I have served on this board for the last two years with pride and dignity. I'm a graduate student with a Bachelors Degree in Human Services from Boricua College. As a a student of Boricua College, I served as president of the student government for 2 years from 2000-2001. I have also served as Vice President for the Liberty Park Home Owners Association in 2002-2003. I'm a community activist in the East Brooklyn area.  I also serve as aHousing Advocate for individuals living with HIV/AIDS within the five boroughs. I'm also a member of the Brooklyn Democratic Club. It is with great pleasure to serve and continue serving the peoplethat live in the communities that deserve the best quality of life.

Mrs. Horvath expertise is in the area of home health care. She is presently the Administrator
of Bronxwood Home Care with the responsibility of compliance, regulatory lobbying and growth initiatives. Mrs. Horvath is affiliated with National Association of Female Executives, Women In Health Management, NYS Health Care Providers and Who’s Who of American Women and International Professionals since 2001.

in our community and was more than honored
to serve as the Board Secretary  of a fast growing organization as Highland Park.

Elvin Crespo is an Assistant Principal at Bedford-Stuyvesant Preparatory High School.  He has been in public education for over 21 years.  Recruited from Puerto Rico in 1987, he taught Bilingual Mathematics at Eastern District High School in Brooklyn for 13 years.  In 2000, he became an Assistant Principal in Mathematics at Springfield Gardens High School.  Later, in 2005, he accepted a position with the Alternative High Curriculum Instructional Specialist in Mathematics. He is a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University with an M.A. in Bilingual Education and holds a Professional Diploma in Administration and Supervision from Long Island University.  Mr. Crespo was honored with an Assistant Principal of the year award by the Queens Superintendency in New York City.  Mr. Crespo is an executive board member of Highland Park Community Development Corporation and CSA Latino Caucus. School and Programs where he served as the Curriculum Instructional Specialist in Mathematics. He is a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University with an M.A. in Bilingual Education and holds a Professional Diploma in Administration and Supervision from Long Island University.  Mr. Crespo was honored with an Assistant Principal of the year award by the Queens Superintendency in New York City.  Mr. Crespo is an executive board member of Highland Park Community Development Corporation and CSA Latino Caucus.

Miriam Felix is a branch manager for Capital One Bank which serves the Cypress Hills.  She is a graduate of State University of New York (SUNY) at Old Westbury. Miriam holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance.  As a person who is dedicated to community service, professional growth and business networking, she recently became a board member of Highland Park Community Development Corporation.

Kenya is currently the Program Director for:
Tilden Hall Residence a transitional living facility for families operated by HPCDC. As HPCDC's first major endeavor into the field of homelessness services Kenya's vision of improving the lives of the homeless by changing the culture through new and innovative ideas has helped to make Tilden Hall a successful program. Kenya brings with him over 10 years experience as a manager for General Electric and 10 years of community service in the HPCDC catch basin, in which he was born and raised.

With over 12 years of experience on both private and not for profit accounting, I have more than hands on experience, I have a completely different can do attitude.  Looking back when I first started my career at Highland Park Community Development Corporation in December 2006, I feel proud of what we have accomplished over the years and look forward to a fruitful and long career here. Our agency has and will continue to improve people’s lives in our community; we are fully committed to our services and to our programs. Our staff with the guidance of our Executive Director, Mr. Robert Santiago and Board of Directors take pride in providing the best possible services and programs to our community.
